Ballet photography in London

I can’t believe it’s already October. The summer has gone so fast and I had many beautiful shoots I’m planning to share on my blog.

This styled shoot with talented Tala Lee-Turton for Ballet Mafia London took place on the hottest day of 2019! I had a pleasure to first meet Tala whilst photographing the Swan Lake Ballet and the Nutcracker by the Astrakhan State Theatre of Opera and Ballet last year.

Tala is a professional classical ballet dancer who as only the third British female graduated from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Tala is an extraordinary artist and her repertoire includes many classics.

I could not be happier when Jessica, the owner of the Ballet Mafia London asked me to photograph Tala wearing a range of their colourful ballet skirts.

The Ballet Mafia London brand was established in 2017 to promote dance for everyone. It takes pride in supporting English National Ballet and the Dance for Parkinson’s Programme.

Three of us, Jessica, Tala and me agreed to go for a slightly edgy style and to use the stunning backdrops with St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Shooting in the bright sunshine is always a challenge, even more so on the hottest day of the year. We had a clear plan though and discussed all the poses that suited both Tala and Ballet Mafia London before and during the shoot.

Hope you enjoy viewing the results. For bookings contact me here.
