RHS Garden Wisley is one of my most favourite places in Surrey when it comes to location portrait shoots. This time of the year when every tree is in blossom, the ideas for a shoot are endless. I often walk around the gardens looking at the colours and thinking of the style of a photo shoot I would love to plan.
Last week I had a pleasure to meet and photograph Summer. I had pale pink shades in my mind for this particular shoot, as I had previously found two beautiful blossom trees in the gardens. The trees were small enough and had the branches coming down to the ground so I could have my 4-year-old model being surrounded by the beautiful flowers. I discussed the colour scheme with Summer’s mum and we picked the dress (Summer’s favourite naturally!) for the shoot.
The light on the day wasn’t perfect, but still I was able to work with it. I explained to Summer what kind of photos I was going to take and she was happy to feel and act like a princess. She really was a dream to work with and some of the results you can see below.
I can never stress enough how important it is to have portraits of our children, families and ourselves around us. Portraits can last the lifetime and have an incredible value for every generation.
The kind words I received from Summer’s grandfather and her mum are just a cherry on a the cake.
“You are a very special photographer, the photos you took of my granddaughter, Summer at Wisley are outstanding, I look forward to seeing the rest of the shoot.”
“Such a wonderful experience. Summer felt so at ease with Magda and loved having her photos taken!”
Hope you enjoy viewing the photos and if you would like to have a similar photo shoot, please contact me. Magda x
