Last month I had a pleasure to photograph Domi and Kevin’s wedding at one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Surrey, Gorse Hill Hotel in Woking. Gorse Hill is a stunning manor house surrounded by lovely Surrey countryside. It’s loaded with great atmosphere – typical English charm and country house feel. All of that makes this very special place into a perfect wedding venue. No wonder Domi and Kevin fell in love with it!
The day itself was truly lovely – full of love, laughter and emotions. I arrived early in the morning to shoot bridal preparations. Domi was very calm and it was such a pleasure to watch everybody being so happy and enjoying the moment. The morning had gone very quickly and soon it was the time for the wedding ceremony to start. After a beautiful reading of “What colour is love” by a Kevin and Domi’s niece, Domi walked down the aisle with her dad. I love the moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time!
The wedding was a great opportunity to learn another beautiful wedding custom – plate smashing! In this Slovakian tradition, the bridesmaids smash the plate into pieces and the newlyweds are asked to sweep the mess up. This symbolises their cooperation, working together as a couple. The moment was particularly close to my heart, as it reminded me of smashing the champagne glasses at my own wedding 10 years ago. Beautiful!
Hope you enjoy viewing the photos! x
